BIO

Avril Anderson has taught at Notre Dame London since 1997. She is a graduate of the Royal College of Music and subsequently studied at the New England Conservatory, Boston, and privately with David del Tredici in New York. Her compositions have been performed in Europe, USA and Australia. Performances  at venues in London include Westminster Abbey, Southbank Centre, Wigmore Hall, St. John’s Smith Square, the Warehouse and ICA. She was composer-in-residence at the Young Place, London’s centre for contemporary dance for ten years. Anderson is co-artistic director of the contemporary music ensemble "Sounds Positive" which has given over one hundred premieres of works by British composers.
